Science provides a way of answering interesting and important questions about the world.

Learning in Science

The Science curriculum at St Joseph’s fosters curiosity, inquiry and evidence-based thinking. Aligned with the NESA Science syllabus, students develop scientific knowledge and skills through practical investigation and theoretical learning.

Stage 4 and Stage 5 (Years 7–10)

Throughout Year 7 – 10 students learn how to use questioning, research and experimentation to discover and investigate the world around us. Students develop their skills in science inquiry through hands-on practical experiences, including student research projects.

Stage 6 (Years 11–12)

Senior Science courses may include:

  • Biology
  • Chemistry
  • Physics
  • Earth and Environmental Science
  • Investigating Science

Students undertake depth studies and practical investigations that meet NESA requirements and support pathways into tertiary study and science-related careers.
