Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE)

Personal Development, Health and Physical Education (PDHPE) contributes significantly to students’ cognitive, social, emotional and physical development.

Learning in PDHPE

PDHPE supports students to develop the knowledge, skills and values needed for healthy, active and fulfilling lives. The curriculum aligns with the NESA PDHPE syllabus and emphasises wellbeing, movement and informed decision-making.

Stage 4 and Stage 5 (Years 7–10)

Students explore:

  • Personal development and wellbeing
  • Relationships and decision-making
  • Health and lifestyle choices
  • Physical activity and movement skills

Stage 5 Elective options include:

  • Child Studies
  • Physical Activity and Sport Studies

Stage 6 (Years 11–12)

Senior courses may include:

  • Health and Movement Science
  • Community and Family Studies
  • Sport, Lifestyle and Recreation

These courses support pathways into health, sport, education and community services.
