St Joseph’s communicates regularly with families through our school Compass portal, newsletters and email updates. The Compass portal is the primary platform for accessing news, events, student reports, attendance information and direct communication with staff.
In most cases, the first point of contact is your child’s classroom teacher. For wellbeing or pastoral concerns, families may also contact their child’s PALS. If you are unsure who to contact, please call our Office.
The school provides inclusive learning support for students with diverse learning, social and emotional needs. This may include personalised learning adjustments, small group support and collaboration with families and external professionals to ensure students can access learning and experience success.
Year 7 students are supported through a comprehensive transition program that includes orientation days, peer support, dedicated pastoral care staff and ongoing communication with families. Our focus is on helping students feel safe, confident and connected from the beginning of their high school journey.
Regular attendance (greater than 95%) is essential for student learning and wellbeing. Families are expected to notify the school of absences via Compass and to support students in maintaining consistent attendance in line with school and CEDoW expectations.
Families receive regular feedback on student progress through formal reports, assessment notifications and parent–teacher interviews. Teachers also provide ongoing feedback to support student growth and learning. Assessment and Reporting can be viewed on Compass.
Parents are encouraged to engage with the school community through events, information evenings and the Parents and Friends Association. Opportunities to support school activities and community initiatives are offered throughout the year.
St Joseph’s is grounded in the Positive Behaviour for Learning (PB4L) framework. Expectations are clearly taught and reinforced, with a focus on respectful relationships, responsibility and restorative practices.
Key policies, procedures and forms are available in the 'About' section of the website and through the school portal. If you require assistance, the school office can help direct you to the appropriate information.
Families are always welcome to contact the school office for guidance. We are committed to supporting parents and carers and ensuring concerns are addressed in a timely and respectful manner.
