Student Leadership

At St Joseph’s Catholic High School, student leadership is an important part of school life. We believe leadership is not just about titles, but about service, responsibility and making a positive difference in the lives of others. Students are encouraged to develop confidence, voice and integrity as they grow into active contributors within the school and wider community.

Leadership opportunities at St Joseph’s allow students to represent their peers, serve others and live out our school values through action. Guided by staff mentors, student leaders develop skills in communication, collaboration, organisation and ethical decision-making.

Student Representative Council (SRC)

The Student Representative Council provides students with a voice in school life. SRC members represent their peers, contribute to school initiatives, support community and charity events, and work collaboratively with staff to strengthen school culture. Through the SRC, students learn the importance of advocacy, teamwork and responsibility.

House Leaders

House Leaders play a key role in building school spirit, participation and belonging. They lead and support students during house-based activities, sporting carnivals and community events, promoting teamwork, encouragement and school pride across all year groups.

Youth Ministry Leaders

Youth Ministry Leaders support the faith life of the school by assisting with liturgies, prayer opportunities, retreats and social justice initiatives. These leaders help foster a faith-filled culture and encourage students to live out Gospel values through service, compassion and reflection.

Environment Leaders

Environment Leaders take an active role in promoting sustainability and care for God’s creation. They support environmental initiatives across the school, encourage responsible practices and help raise awareness of sustainability issues within the school community.

Developing Leadership for Life

Through these leadership opportunities, students at St Joseph’s are supported to grow as confident, respectful and service-oriented young people. Leadership experiences help students develop skills and values that prepare them not only for school life, but for future study, work and community involvement.
